Celebrate the new decade in the North-East at the Newcastle Winter Carnival - Newcastle's New Year's Eve Extravaganza!
Going all out to make sure families can join in the New Year celebrations, the Newcastle Winter Carnival had a packed programme of events this New Year's eve, starting at 2pm with Carnival Queens, Kinetika Tiger and drummers performing on Grey St, Grainger St and Old Eldon Square.
The carnival procession will arrive at Monument by 4pm and then on to Newcastle Civic Centre via Northumberland Street.
There will be more entertainment and music at the Civic Centre, leading up to a fireworks finale at 6pm.
Festivities will of course continue in Newcastle City Centre until the new year is rung in at midnight.
So for a fun family evening celebrating the New Year, make for Newcastle city centre for the 2010 Newcastle Winter Carnival!
