THE NATIONAL MEDIA MUSEUM

The National Media Museum offers seven floors completely devoted to film, photography, television, radio and the web, including interactive galleries about photography, television and animation, two special exhibition galleries and three cinemas including the giant IMAX cinema showing the latest range in 3D films.

At the National Media Museum, you can journey through popular photography, visit IMAX – the world’s most powerful giant screen experience - or discover the past, present and future of television in Experience TV. Watch your favourite TV moments in TV Heaven, play with light, lenses and colour in the Magic Factory and explore the world of animation!

The National Media Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions in two dedicated gallery spaces and has two world class cinemas with a changing monthly programme showing a variety of films and playing host to three annual film festivals. Visitors can also go behind the scenes and enjoy the Museum’s unique collections in Insight, The Collections and Research Centre.

Every weekend and during school holidays there is a packed schedule of FREE exciting tours, talks and activities for everyone to get involved in.

The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-6pm (closed Mondays) and the cinema is open daily from 10am until late.
