Let us know if you have any school or club fetes and fairs on this forum.
Here's a few tips to help make it easier for users to find the event you are posting:
- Create a new post for each event
- Put the location, county and date in the title
- It's not a bad idea to repeat the title at the beginning of the main body of the post
- Remember to say where and when the event is - people may want to come that don't know the area as well as locals
- Postcodes are useful for people to find the location on GoogleMaps, Sat Nav etc
- Any additional information is obviously useful, including what to expect, if there's a website or other contact details to find out more info etc.
- Don't go overboard on detail - keep it short and sweet
- Don't forget to add some tags to help people find the post more easily on the site (eg look just below the body of this post. Definitely worth putting what type of event (fair/fete/fireworks etc), year, month, location, town/village/school name, county. Any more is up to you, but don't go overboard!
- Finally, please don't copy-paste straight from Microsoft Word into a discussion board post. For technical reasons that we won't bother you with, if you use copy-paste from MS Word a whole lot of invisible code will also be copied across which is very likely to make a beautifully crafted page in Word look truly, truly awful on the web! If you only have info in Word, we'd suggest you convert the text to a .txt file or easier still, copy-paste it into Notepad first which will strip out all the baggage from Word.
