Newcastle Winter Festival 2008 is the place to be for seasonal fun. As well as the city's regular winter activities, such as ice rinks,  pantomimes, theatre, concerts, exhibitions, lights switch-ons and winter markets, Newcastle Gateshead Winter Festival presents FREE special elements: Enchanted Parks in which Saltwell Park is transformed into a magical world; Glow which will illuminate Newcastle's medieval town walls; a parade of Glowmobiles to celebrate New Year's Eve; and artdoor artworks by Yoko Ono.
