Went to the "A Time Of Chivalry" event at Kenilworth Castle over the bank holiday. Fab family day out! The medieval tents dotted around the castle grounds were fun to explore, seeing pottery, weaving and other crafts and trades. Of course DS loved the archery and fighting knights! Would definitely go again and make a full day of it (the smell from the outdoor grill was very, very enticing!!!).

Visit Kenilworth Castle between 1st September and 31st October 2008 and get a sneak preview of the re-created lost Elizabethan garden, due for its official launch in Spring 2009.

You'll be able Wander through the near-completed garden and be transported back to a bygone era of Elizabethan grandeur. View the magnificent carved arbours, huge aviary and intricate planting scheme.

Kenilworth Castle is a favourite haunt of Moley's and he has seen the impressive gardens taking shape this year. You can get great aerial views of the new gardens from the ramparts of the castle which really show how impressive formal gardens can look.

Christmas Fun at Kenilworth Castle 29-30 November 2008

While grown ups are buying Christmas gifts at Kenilworth Castle (exclusive to English Heritage at a special 10% discount!), kids can have fun with Christmas story telling and seeking out the reindeer who are hiding around the site.

Also enjoy festive musical performances throughout the day.

Join Raphael Falconry for this Christmas-themed falconry event at Kenilworth Castle looking at how medieval huntsmen contributed to the supply of banquet food.

Find out about the tradition of hunting in winter, seasonal colours, the history of Christmas birds and festive recipes that people can take home and try. There will be 2 flying displays, 2 themed talks, a static display and a Christmas Star Hunt for children.

Also join colourful minstrels for early music and dancing with a festive flavouring.
