A man who threw a message in a bottle into the sea when he was aged 11 has been reunited with it 23 years on.
Donald Wylie sent the message from a beach in Deerness on Orkney in 1985. It was found during a beach clean-up on West Sands St Andrews in Fife being organised by a group of eco-volunteers from St Andrews University.
Amazingly, armed with only Donald's name and a date of birth along with the location that the bottle was thrown into the sea written on the note, the volunteers managed to track Donald down and present him with the bottle and message...but not a bill for the beach cleanup...
