Pakenham Water Mill is one of Suffolk's hidden gems and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, only 7 miles from Bury St Edmunds. Open to the public, the watermill is easily accessible by road or cycle way. A unique historical landmark, Pakenham Water Mill is not only a popular attraction for mill enthusiasts, but also a source of fascination and enjoyment for tourists, ramblers, school parties, local artists and families, all looking for a day out with a difference. You can even see the mill in operation form 10-11am on the first Thu of every month - see the Pakenham Water Mill website for more info.

Facilities at Pakenham Water Mill
New this year at Pakenham Water Mill
Two of the Packenham mill volunteers who share a joint interest and love of the local wildlife decided to create a small wildlife area in the grounds of the Mill. Wild flowers such as ox-eye daisies and foxgloves have been planted and a wild flower area will be left undisturbed for the butterflies and bees. Pakenham Water Mill also hope to create a small Nature Trail in the grounds this year for younger visitors
